be still

God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon. Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening. -Psalm 19:1-2

There is beauty in silence. There are some things that cannot be translated from spirit to flesh. Trying only dumbs. Breathe the peace of knowing that Spirit can understand Spirit. Those who will get it, will get it when they know how to listen.

Stop struggling to put words to what no combination of words can adequately articulate. You’re only speaking to be heard because you believe that if you’re heard, you’ll be approved. God asks things of you that take you out of the wrapping. He asks you to love when love is offensive. Practice letting go of your need to be understood.

Breathe in. Let Life swirl within you. Breath out. Let your exhale settle you.

Let compassion and love allow you to see beauty in the cracks and fissures. Let warmth radiate from you as you administer healing with a soft breath.

Whisk away the words with the back of your hand. The inadequacy of language frustrates the mouthpiece.

The Spirit lucidly speaks what only itself fully understands. The eyes of the flesh, the windows to the soul, look at each other as if to say, ‘You know?”

Breath deeply. Exhale fully. We can hear you.

Here is my smiling nod to answer, ‘Yes, I know.’

Their words aren’t heard, their voices aren’t recorded, But their silence fills the earth: unspoken truth is spoken everywhere.Psalm 19:3-4

Oh, how you've taken my breath away. I so often feel so much inside that I can never express with words. I love this post so much.

Oh thank you for your blog, I saw your story on another site and had to find your blog. God's grace is amazing and without it we'd be nothing.

This reminded me of that quote that says "life isn't measured in the breaths you take but in the moments that take your breath away". I am trying to just focus on this breath sometimes. Breathe in and breathe out, and tadaa I've survived another moment. Sometimes it has to be that way. I am thankful for this quiet graceful post. It was beautiful…Thank you for the times when you are tough and the times when you breathe life.

This works when the world crumbles around you as well.

So too the Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance. (Romans 8:26)

practice letting go of your need to be understood… that's my weakness. Dear God, your grace is sufficient, it is sufficient. I struggled with that very thing tonight with something a leader of a group said to me. Dear God, be my strength.
